Guide to International Eats in Pensacola

0

There is ONE common language that every country/culture shares, and it’s the thing that fuels our bodies and brings our families together: FOOD.

Pensacola is slowly and silently becoming a melting pot of cultures. Look at me, for example:  Austrian-Venezuelan-Puertorican mom and avid home cook who enjoys sharing her international culinary inheritance because flavor and good food are meant for every household.

Let’s just say that I like to spoil my friends and family when it comes to food.

But, the world is much bigger than my biological countries, and it has taken some time, but Pensacola is leaving its mark in the Culinary Business world, and I am all for it.

This home cook takes a day off once in a while to explore. So, I’m here to help you discover the most delicious eateries that will take you on a trip around the world.

Not only will your palate be transported out of Pensacola, but you will be supporting local businesses during your journey.

Greek’s Catering and Events

There is no Gyro like a lamb Gyro! This food truck-based restaurant is located on the corner of Spanish Trl in front of Hillcrest Church. You can pick up freshly made Greek food to enjoy at home, but if you can’t resist the aroma, there is plenty of seating among the picturesque pine trees. You can also order catering for your next business meeting or family function.

Pho – Ever

I shall eat this “Pho-Ever!” Freshly made broth and noodles accompanied by your choice of meats and vegetables will have you daydreaming for days. This hidden spot on Sorrento Road is ready to delight you with its specialty PHO and other Vietnamese delicacies.

Eurasian Bistro

The Kitty robot is ready to greet you and transport your food personally to your table. With a variety of rice and noodle dishes, their Ramen hits the highest note. My favorite is the Raw Beef Ramen, where the heat of the hot and comforting broth will slowly cook it and keep it tender.

Taste of Jerusalem

The “City of Peace” flavors transport me to my ancestral past. I wasn’t lucky enough to meet my Palestinian great-grandpa, but I am certain that his food tasted as glorious as the food of Taste of Jerusalem. I am a sucker for Kibbeh, Falafel, and anything Lamb. Don’t forget to order and enjoy their freshly baked pita. Order takeout or eat in and browse through their bakery and their Middle Eastern staples.

Joe Caribe

Salsa your way into the best fried plantains, arroz con gandules, and roasted pork in Pensacola. I suggest eating in and enjoying freshly made fritters (Empanadillas, Alcapurrias, Sorullitos) or track down The Joe Caribe food truck at the next Gallery night or other local events where you also enjoy Pinchos (Kabobs) and so much more!

Mr. Pollo Pensacola/ Pensacola Blvd.

Think healthy, think tasty, think that you are in a rush, then think Mr. Pollo! Their juicy charcoal-roasted chicken is accompanied by an array of sides meant to please your cravings. From fried sweet plantains to a kid-pleaser Mac n’ Cheese, you can feed your whole family quickly and on the spot. Their chicken comes out fresh all day long.

Bonelli’s

From New York to Pensacola, you will enjoy the comfort and the taste of Little Italy. This is where you will look forward to ending your day with fresh pasta dishes made to order and a comforting glass of Italian wine. Reservations in advance are recommended.

Angelena’s Ristorante Italiano

From Little Italy, our culinary journey takes us to the heart of Italy. From Freshly made pasta (daily) curated with seasonal and local ingredients to authentic brick oven pizza, your palate will be transported from Tuscany to Sicily in just one trip. All new and classic dishes can be accompanied by professionally selected and imported wines from Italy. I highly recommend the Pasta Tasting Menu. When you arrive at your final destination, dessert, you’ll have the SWEETEST dreams for days to come. Our family favorite is the “Chocolate Salami.”

Bavaria Pensacola

Prost! Hold your liter of Hofbrau Lager high and toast to music and food that makes you dance the polka. Giant Bretzel (Pretzel), Weißwurst (white sausage), Wiener Schnitzel (Breaded Veal), and Kartofel Salat are only a few of the authentic German delicacies you can enjoy at Pensacola’s ONLY German restaurant. They have an Italian brick oven where you can get your favorite freshly baked pizza if you’re extra hungry or have picky eaters. Guten Appetit!

Sir Richard’s Public House

No royal gloves are needed here to eat the best Fish and Chips in town! Sit under the quaint umbrella in the beer garden and enjoy a comforting meal made for anyone and everyone. Open from 11am – 3am. It’s great for a quick bite with the family or a night out on date night.

George’s Bistro

Many would consider it one of the best fine dining restaurants in Pensacola, and I completely agree, but what makes it so special? Due to his cultural background, foreign culinary inspiration, and diverse menu, Chef George elevates your experience to a whole new level. Southern food with a European flare makes George’s Bistro an internationally inspired extraordinary restaurant.

Agapi Bistro + Garden

A cruise through the Mediterranean never tasted so good! A seasonally curated menu by renowned Chef Gus Silivos, takes you on a journey through his birth home of the Greek islands all the way to the Southern US. Together with his wife, originally from Puerto Rico, they offer you a warm and familiar atmosphere that will make you feel at home.
