It’s “Family Movie Night”– 90’s style!

The one thing my family looks forward to after a long week of school and work is Friday Family Movie night! My girls (who are currently five and seven years old) love our (mostly) weekly tradition.

We have a few rules.

  1. We have to finish dinner and clean up. (Friday dinners are typically something quick like Chick-fil-A, pizza, leftovers, etc.)
  2. We have to get into our pajamas or comfy clothes.
  3. Mom and Dad get first dibs on picking the movie, BUT the majority has to agree. And my husband and I have first dibs because if it were up to my girls, we would be watching only Encanto, Eloise, or their current favorite– High School Musical.
  4. It HAS to be a movie. As much as I love a good Bluey episode, I’d rather curl up and watch something longer than seven-minute shows.

When I told my husband I was writing this article, he immediately started spouting off some of his favorite childhood movies from the 90’s. We haven’t watched many of these movies with our children, but we are definitely going to be working through this list.
