Meet Frency MooreFrency Moore

Tell us about your family. How many kids do you have? What are their ages?

I have been married to Jared for 15 years and together we have four children: June (13), Jones (11), Juliet (10), and Jackson (8).

What do you do for a living?

I was an educator for 10 years, but I just recently started a new career as Community Outreach Coordinator at Studer Community Institute. I get to advocate for children and help adults in our community become better parents, build better businesses, and be more involved citizens of our community.

What do you like about raising a family in Pensacola? What is challenging about raising a family here?

I absolutely love Pensacola. It’s a small town with great resources. We have beautiful beaches, interesting history, and friendly people. I don’t really see many challenges raising children here; however, I do hope that as Pensacola grows it will become a more diverse community.

What do you consider to be the greatest joy of motherhood? The greatest challenge?

Watching children grow up and achieve different milestones in life is the greatest joy in motherhood. The greatest challenge has been finding the balance between being a present and loving parent and having a full-time successful career.

What do you do to recharge? How do you practice self-care?

I love running. I have a core group of friends who wake up at 5am most mornings to run a few miles with me. It’s my “recharge” time!

What is your favorite local thing to do/place to go?

As a family, we love to kayak on Bayou Texar, tube down Coldwater Creek, and hike the UWF trails.

What book are you reading (or listening to) right now? Do you have a favorite podcast?

The Formula by Ronald Ferguson. It’s a great book about the secrets to raising highly successful children. I am also a huge fan of Emily Ley and I love listening to her podcast.

What is your favorite local business in Pensacola?

I love Running Wild and the Apple Market. They were my first two jobs as a young adult. They are both run by great families who invest so much in our community.

What is your best advice for a new mom or a mom in a difficult season?

Read books and find some friends! I have not yet found one challenge in my motherhood journey that a friend or a book did not help me solve!

What is the one thing you wish you could tell ALL moms about raising kids?

Always advocate for your child. No one knows your child better than you! As a parent, it is so important to be present to help them navigate the disappointments and celebrate the wins (even if they are small milestones!)

Anything else you would like us to know about yourself that makes you uniquely you?

I love Pensacola. I believe we are so fortunate as a community to be in such a special part of the country. We have beautiful beaches and such rich history. It has always been my desire as a citizen to play a part in continuing to grow a financially strong, well-educated, culturally rich community.

Jen Kinsella
The Navy brought Jen and her family to Pensacola in 2018 following a 3-year tour in Belgium. Born and raised in the Midwest, Jen’s career path took her to Washington, D.C., after college, where she lived until she married her husband, Tim, in 2007. Balancing family and career against the backdrop of military life has made her appreciate the importance of friendships, connections, and finding your “mom tribe” wherever “home” may be. While living in Belgium, Jen took on her most challenging role to date, that of a stay-at-home-mom to her two sons, Timothy and Charlie. In this position, she has been forced to face her fear of cooking, has learned that you never “catch up” on laundry and that she continuously works longer hours for less pay! Fueled by coffee, Pure Barre, and dry shampoo, she feels like she’s “winging it” when it comes to motherhood most of the time, but couldn’t imagine a more rewarding journey. She continues to learn from her kids every day.
