Pensacola’s Sweet Tooth : 10 Sweet Spots for Moms and Kids

My sweet tooth is legendary, and it has good taste. So, I’m excited to share some of my favorite local spots to stop for sweet treats around Pensacola.

I’m sure you’ll see some old favorites, and I hope you find some new ones to try, too! For time’s sake, I’ve limited myself to ten spots. If you have some other favorites, share them below!

Craft Gourmet Bakery

(5555 N. Davis Highway)

Craft Bakery is such a gem (I want my birthday cake from here!)!! Their almond croissants and lemon bars are to die for. Perfect for a morning outing with the kids when you could use a good coffee and a delicious treat to go with it.

Joe Patti’s Seafood Market

(524 S. B Street)

I know Joe Patti’s is famous for seafood, but did you know they have a bakery too? Their key lime pie is amazing and is a great treat after a family seafood feast. My personal favorite is their cannolis. I’ve tried them all, and they’re the best in town.

J’s Bakery

(2014 N. 12th Avenue)

J’s Bakery has been a Pensacola favorite for ages. Their smiley face cookies and various baked goods are always a hit. And if you’re planning a birthday party, their custom cakes are both beautiful and delicious.

Bubba’s Sweet Spot

(405 S. Palafox Street)

Owned by the golfer Bubba Watson, Bubba’s Sweet Spot is the downtown stop for ice creams, shakes, and baked goodies. The “Bubba’s Favorite” sundae is a local fave – piled high with ice cream, fudge, and whipped cream.

Lamonte Gelato

(1010 N. 12th Avenue, Suite 133)

Italy, but make it in Pensacola! If you’re craving a taste of Italy, Lamonte Gelato is the place to go. Located in the Historic Sacred Heart Hospital, they offer amazing flavors like pistachio and stracciatella. Perfect for cooling down on a hot day!

Fannie Lou’s Ice Cream

(3101 E. Cervantes Street)

Fannie Lou’s Ice Cream is such a fun spot for families. It’s that old-fashioned ice cream parlor feel with Pensacola-themed ice cream made in-house! Flavors like “Blueberry Angel,” “Pelican Poo” (my fave!), “Graffiti Bridge,” and “Blackwater River” will make you feel right at home.

Wild Honey

(1741 E. Nine Mile Road, Suite 3)

Our go-to fro-yo place. Wild Honey has good frozen yogurt with every topping you could want. It’s awesome for kids because they lean heavily on Disney with frequent “princess pop-ups” and play your favorite Disney sing-alongs.

Bear Fruit Bowls

(41 Fort Pickens Road, Pensacola Beach / 260 S. Tarragona Street, Downtown)

There’s a truck downtown on Tarragona Street, but the OG Bear Fruit Bowls location is on the pier at Pensacola Beach. One of my ideal mornings is having an acai bowl while sitting on the beach during the off-season (when Casino Beach has calmed down a little).

Chrisoula’s Cheesecake Shoppe

(236 W. Garden Street)

For cheesecake lovers, Chrisoula’s is a must-visit. They have so many flavors, from classic New York style to raspberry swirl. Each cheesecake is rich, creamy, and perfect for a special treat.

Maynard’s Donut Company

(875 E. Nine Mile Road, Suite 9)

Maynard’s Donut Company has the best donuts in town. They make them fresh daily, with flavors like classic glazed and maple bacon. The “Cinnamon Sugar” donut is simple yet so delicious – my kids love it!

So, next time you’re looking for a sweet treat in Pensacola, these spots are worth checking out.

Happy Sweet Hunting!

She has a passion for equitable education, civic duty and engagement, and loves being involved in her community. When she’s not figuring out how to run a business, take care of her new kiddo, and constantly figuring out what to eat for dinner, you can find her at CivicCon events, doing yoga, and planning her next international trip with her best friend. Just like every other mom she’s trying to figure out how to juggle it all and doing her best to stay present.
