School is soon to be over, and our routines are about to change, ONCE AGAIN!
I moved my kids from virtual school to ‘brick and mortar’ in mid-February which finally gave me some sense of normalcy amidst the pandemic. I began my spring cleaning early and planned to go for a walk or run every day for 45 minutes, which was hard to accomplish.
Luck was on my side when I received an invitation to join Pensacola MoM Collective Fitness Club on Facebook. It’s a forum that connects moms in the area to help motivate each other, inform about local fitness activities, and even plan workouts with new mom friends. It came into my life at the perfect time! I needed some inspiration to get my health back on track.
To help feed that motivation, I created a “Two Minute Weekly Challenge.” With the hectic lives we lead, our wellness tends to be last on our list. Tiredness, exhaustion, and frustration only need two minutes of positive energy and movement to improve. The idea behind it was to drop everything at any given time and do the proposed workout; jumping jacks, wall sits, pushups, etc. It’s never too late to take on a challenge, so I’ve posted the videos for you at the end of this page.
If you are a fitness butterfly or just need a bit of a push to get moving, JOIN US! Challenge yourselves to take some time during your busy day to get your heart rate up. Share your healthy cooking hacks, or go for a walk/ run around downtown Pensacola with a new friend.
Today I will make my final Pensacola MoM Collective Fitness Club Challenge to help you begin the summer on a high note.
I challenge you to run a local 5k or enroll in a virtual challenge of your preference!
You have probably seen ads on social media for entities like Run 4 Movement, Run Across America, American Cancer Association Squat Challenge, etc. I am an advocate for doing things with a purpose, and most of these organizations will donate your registration fee to charity. Recently, I “RAN 4 CHAMPAGNE” with a friend and the proceeds went to Feeding America. What did I earn? An amazing sense of accomplishment, an awesome Tank Top, and the coolest medal anyone can have!
Below I will list a few organizations to get you started on your search if you have any other live or virtual events to suggest, post them in the comment section.
Challenge yourself, your friends, and your family! Among the perks, besides self-satisfaction, there are medals, t-shirts, and other fun prizes you can receive with your donation.
